Ok, the options are in for the weekend. Now all that's left is a quick shopping trip tomorrow...so what do you think? (sorry, uploading the pictures isn't working...lame. use the links instead, promise the cute clothes are worth the extra click!)
A) Classic Nautical. I can't get enough of this dress, I adore it.
B) This beach look. Throw in an oversized floppy hat and a loose red scarf and I'm in love. (Ok so this look is definitely more of a lust and not practical this year since I won't be anywhere near a beach. pfff. but for those of you who are...I am jealous.)
C) Stripes, stripes, stripes. This lil gem of a shirt paired with high-waisted navy trouser shorts and flats. I like the idea of keeping a little scarf around your neck too.
D) Summertime pajamas. This is perfection and fits the bill perfectly. I would be willing to throw in the hat on fireworks this year and stay home all day baking pies and watching movies if I had this lovely romper to lounge around in.

Giddy for The Fourth.
It's almost July again!!! Remember my Fourth of July outfit from last year? Mmm I almost become giddy thinking about the 4th of July every time it rolls around. For some reason this holiday just tickles my fancy.
I can think of three great reasons as to why this is the best holiday around:
1-The outfit possibilities. Helllllllo red, white, and blue! What more do you need to shamelessly promote wearing the cutest nautical-themed outfits all weekend???
2-Fruit tarts. In my mind, blueberry/strawberry fruit tarts are synonymous with the fourth of july. yum.
3-Fireworks. What's not to love about watching fireworks while lounging on a lawn during a summery night?
Trifecta. Now I just need to make some friends a.s.a.p. here in Michigan...or buy a plane ticket. There are plenty of things I do on my own, but I have to admit doing a picnic for one while watching fireworks on the fourth is never going to happen.

New York, NY
New York is addicting. I had almost completely gotten it out of my system pretty much a year after I moved away from it, and then BAM!!...it utterly entrances me again in a matter of days. New York, you'll always be my love affair.
Work training was wonderful. I'm so lucky to be working with so many great people who I just love love love. Also so glad I got to see some more of my favorite loverlies before heading out to Michigan. Love all you NYers.

Bon Voyage
Went to the rodeo with these loverlies this weekend. Such a fun time.
Took him on his first drive through the Provo Canyon to Hobble Creek Canyon loop. Complete with wildflower picking, a mini water bottle accident, and some very pretty mountains. love love love.
Just got in to NYC early this morning...I'm still thawing from the freezer they call an airplane.

Last Weekend In Utah
I'm really sad to be leaving outdoorsy UT and all of my wonderful friends here. If I could transport you all to Detroit and then Chicago with me, I would. In a heartbeat. Moving to Detroit terrifies me since I don't know a SOUL there. Literally, no one. I think I'm going to get a pet. And Netflix. And a comfy couch.
Last Weekend To-Do's: The Fun Non-Packing List
-Rodeo tonight in Pleasant Grove
-MOAAAAAAB Saturday
-Go to Utah Lake (never been, and I've lived here for 5 years!)
-Shop PC Outlets one last time
-Drive the Squaw Peak/Hobble Creek Loop one last time
-One last good session of bouldering at The Quarry
72 hours left. I think I'm going to cry. I don't know how this happened, but suddenly I don't want to leave. Or have my life change. But...I know I'll love it the second I jump. So here's to jumping...and my ever-changing life!

The Dirty Dash

This is my dream come true. Check it out.
PS if anyone else (cough cough lindsey ashley kris) wanted to do a team run on this, I would seriously consider coming back to Utah for it. So please, someone consider it so I can fulfill my muddy xcountry dreams that have been stifled for way too long.

Cinnamon Roll Love

There are a few things in life that never fail to leave me astoundingly happy every time I encounter them. Things like kittens, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory caramel apples, pedicures, and cinnamon rolls. Oh how I love cinnamon rolls. They're quite possibly the best thing my mom ever taught me how to cook or bake. I decided to make some for fun (and for some quick thanks you's that were long past due) last night. I'm not telling you how many I've already consumed in the past 12 hours. But, I am telling you that I have about two dozen extra rolls of divinity in my apartment and that if anyone is in Provo and wants to have, say, a hot cocoa and cinnamon roll party later on tonight...I'd be all about it.

I knew I loved Fridays for a reason
So...all I have to say is:
I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!
That, and why doesn't this font get any bigger? Really, that the biggest it goes? So much for portraying excitement. Pffff.
IPG offered me a position as an associate in their 2-year rotational program in their mid-west division. I'm so excited! Basically, I have a job with IPG and will be rotating every 6 months to a different IPG agency (such as McCann Erickson, Deutsch, DraftFCB, Gotham, etc.)...and eventually (hopefully) stay on with one of those companies full-time. I'll be spending my first year in Detroit, and then the second year in Chicago. And the best part? I leave in a week (A WEEK!) for orientation in NYC!

Charity
I've recently started using LDS.org a lot more during my daily scripture study. Today I got caught up in watching all of the different short message videos that they have on the site. This one really went straight to my heart...it's been way too long since I've actively participated in a charity group.

Glitter In The Air
Have you ever liked a song a lot and then looked it up on YouTube only to find that the top video for it is ridiculously weird?! Yeah. I still like this song even though I think Pink is seriously odd. Really? A ribbon body suit that hearkens to Lady Gaga? Blech. It's slightly awkward, so if skimpy body suits make you uncomfortable, just play the song and then change your browsing to a different tab.
Great Morning
This is what happens when you accidentally leave PhotoBooth up and then open your laptop to it in the morning. Gooooood morning sunshine.

Jewels of New York
I don't know how I never knew about this company...or blog...until now. One of my recently new-found joys of being momentarily unemployed is cooking. And boy do I love a good cooking blog that serves up unique dishes that aren't going to cost me an arm and a leg to make or require me to spend the entire day in the kitchen.
Jewels of New York fits this bill perfectly. All I have to say is that I will be trying out multiple recipes from this one over the next month...dinner club anyone?
-----
PS make sure to read the about section for this company. I love a good food company, but I love a good food company founded by people with a genuine love of cooking even more.
EXCITEMENT!
I have to admit, after decided to not move to the lovely NYC this summer, I have definitely had some moments of "ahh crap what did I just do"?! There are some days where I wonder why on earth I'm not in NYC...and then there are other days (like today) where things just go so well and I'm happy as a clam with my decision to look at Chicago. No, I don't have a job. But yes, I did get a couple really promising and exciting calls/emails today about potential work stuff.
Thank heavens for days like today that make me excited enough to smile and laugh about this whole mess that calls itself my life right now :)

Brooklet the Clam
Cute otter, huh? I was looking for a picture of a clam and this lil gem popped up and I just couldn't resist because of the lil guy. Anyways, point of the post: You know that obnoxious question people always ask you about what type of animal you are most like. Well, I've given it some thought and if I had to choose what animal I was honest to goodness like, I think I'd say I'm a clam. I know they don't technically qualify as an animal, but give me a break. When all the cutesy reasons are taken away, the real reason is that they're ridiculous protective, self-preservationists. And I can't argue that one.

Memorial Day Weekend
This Memorial Day weekend was one of the most relaxing weekends ever, complete with ample cooking, gardening, hiking, bonfiring, jeeping, shooting, chatting, and just good times with fun friends. I went down to the cabin (really need to start branching out with my weekend trip locations...but I love it down there!) with Bobby, Eric, & Ilene. However, we did branch out by avoiding Zions and instead doing a few day hikes in Bryce Canyon. Bryce is GORGEOUS. Don't know why I hadn't been there in years! Even despite the lame cold I came down with, I had a fun time.
Couldn't have asked for a better weekend :)
