Classes started today. Only 8 more months of provo. Let the countdown begin.
24-Hour Recap:

-Had a very pleasant visit from a Mr. Danny Wilson and Ilene!
-Could NOT sleep at all last night. went to bed around one and woke up over 5 times. ridiculous.
-Late for my one and only business class. Good thing it's HUGE and nobody noticed.
-Ad Lab. Oh it's good to be back...may be returning to the NY soon (Sept.) for Ad Week?!?!
-And now at work.
-And then climbing. Eight PM with the lovely S&S, E&I, and of course Karis. So happy to be back with the mountains.
So now I'm thinking a beach trip is due sometime soonish?! Maui...Oahu...Cali...?

New Obsession
If there was one thing I learned while in France last year, it's that the French have fashion nailed. Ever since then my new goal in life has been to become more stylish (and not just fashionable). So naturally, you'll understand my recent obsession with Garance Dore's blog. Love it. And it's in French and English to boot. You should become obsessed as well, it's worth your time.
xo
PS this is my new inspiration and look I'm going for this fall...think I could do it? I'd have to agree with Garance on this one, I have such a girl crush. This girl's look is straight up fab. And I'm convinced I could actually pull this one off...love the thick blunt bangs and long hair.

On and Off
Provo,
Darling, our relationship has been on and off for the past 4 years and I'm happy to say I'm back again, ready to make it work for the next four to eight months. Hopefully you're as excited and optimistic as I am.

Brooke+Ashley's Outdoor Adventure With The Boys
I am so glad I have amazingly awesomely fantastically incredibly adventurously rad guy friends. That said, this weekend was great! Ashley and I went with Nate, Rob, Craig, & Dave on a canyoneering adventure (still sad McKell didn't make it), and boy was it an adventure. Despite the fact that we felt like we were somehow accidentally invited on a boy bonding trip, we loved it! These guys are the absolute best and were so patient with us. This was only my second time, but I think it's safe to say my interest has been peaked with canyoneering...I think I may in fact love it more than just straight climbing! There's something tranquil about slot canyons, and just nature in general. Oh and the stars were incredible out there. My word, I don't think they're even that clear at the cabin! This was the perfect welcome home trip after the city. Loved it. Thanks for inviting us Nate!

Sad to Say Goodbye
Dear N.Y.,
You have treated me well these last two months, and now I am sad to go. I'm going to go ahead and throw it out there: I think we're a 95% match made in heaven. But let's face it, is there ever going to be a perfect fit? (Just in case you were wondering, my perfect world would be Colorado+Hawaii being closer together than a 5 hour plane ride) That said, I still think we work quite wonderfully together. Your fast pace, sense in fashion, wonderful taste in food, and endless amounts of entertainment...yup, I think we could make this work. I look forward to seeing you again very soon.
love,

Two of My Favorite Girls
I had the privilege of spending an afternoon in the city with Carissa and Miss Kennedy this week. I adore both of these girls! Kennedy is absolutely darling and so big, I cannot believe how much she has grown in a year. Carissa I just love you, so glad we have always somehow been able to meet up over the past couple of years (hopefully the trend continues!)...and so glad we met back in the day in French Convo with Erickson! haha.

The Twenty Two
I have to admit, I'm not used to being with that many people on my birthday...so this year was fun and different! For starters, my bosses at work are just fantastic. We worked a half day and then meandered down to Madison Square, then to The Stand (HIGHLY recommend it!), a quick shoe shopping escapade, and then pedicures. Amazingingly fun bosses right?!
I grabbed dinner with wonderful Valerie and Christina at Cafetasia, and then met up with some other friends at Magnolias for yumness. All in all, a fabulous day. Oh, and to make it even better, when I finally got home around 11:30 at night, there were flowers waiting for me! My sweet roommate bought some darling gerber daisies, and Nate W. sent me the above flowers. He definitely got the sweetest guy ever award for that one.
Brooke+Ashley in the NYC

Ash came into town with her family, and lucky for me, they let me tag along for a few fun activities. The Yankees game was incredibly fun, while also incredibly sweaty. Seriously I am excited to return to the land of no humidity! Never thought I would say that, but let's face it, I'm a firm believer that humidity should not exist unless there is a beautiful beach to go along with it.
The Phantom of the Opera was phenom. Such a great play! Don't know how the boys felt about it, but I was pretty much beaming in my seat the entire time, I love the music in that show!
Overall, a great time with Ash, love her! So glad we got to be in the city at the same time!

39 Steps
Fabulous Broadway, and a comedy to boot. This play epitomizes amazing acting. You know how you see some plays and the set and costumes are just to die for and you're just so wowed by them that you hardly even notice the acting? This one was even better. The set and the costumes weren't that phenom, but my word, the level of acting made you hardly even notice. The whole play is done by 4 people, and it is to die for. Anyone coming to NY has to has to has to see this one.
PS student rush tickets are only $26 and the seats are great.

Fire Island
Fire Island. Quite the magical place, really. If you looked up the definition of a cute, east coast beach town, you'd find a picture of this place there. My roommate Michelle was kind enough to invite me along with her and some friends today, and it was incredible!
Where do I begin to describe it all? The weather was perfect...sunny but not hot or humid. Miracle! Quite the jaunt from our upper west side abode (3 hours from doorstep to sandy beach), but it was worth every second.
As my first experience in the Atlantic, this surely did not disappoint. The sand was smooth and soft, and the water--while at first FREEZING--was quite welcoming. I'd love to see what this place looks like in the winter with all of the snow it gets.
One of the best parts about this island has to be it's lack of cars though! There aren't any cars on the entire (tiny) island. Everyone gets around with bicycles and wagons. So charming. There aren't any streets, only widened sidewalks everywhere! And oh the houses. The houses are absolutely beautiful...so much character. I've decided I will at some point in my life need to rent out a summer home here.
Such a well-needed, relaxing day. Fire Island, you stole my heart.
