Things That Make Me Happy
The following never cease to make me smile...
-Hugs from Jake Welch. If you know him, you know what I mean. He's a rock star, one of my favorite old friends. I adore him. He just hugged me and it seriously made me a million times happier.
-Long conversations with my besties.
-Perusing my favorite stores...online or for real.
-Making things. My newest thing is altering clothing by adding embellishments.
-Baking lovely and yummy things...then giving them away.
-Visiting people in the hospital.
-Listening to and discovering new music.
-Quiet, late nights spent at home alone, snuggled up in my bed with a good book.
-co-ed naps...ha...errr...I mean...solitary naps on my own. Naps in any form, really.
-Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory snickers carmel apples.
Love Others, Love Yourself
I love this quote from Elder Faust:
“The commandment given by the Savior was to love others and yourself. Am I secure enough in my love of myself to laugh at myself, to admit mistakes, to graciously accept a compliment? Am I secure in my love of others to smile and say hello to a perfect stranger?”

Another good thought from this address...
"All of us are not called to leadership in the kingdom. Yet is there a greater work than that of being a teacher, father, mother? So it is that nobody is a nobody. The seeds of divinity are in all of us. The day will come when we will all have to account to God for what we have done with that portion of divinity that is within us."

Pedal Powered Water Purification
--------------------------

Synch your workout with a little river detox, then rehydrate with a cup of the fresh water you just filtered. This people-powered water purification island, designed by Jakub Szczesny as part of the Synchronicity architecture and art festival in Warsaw, Poland, hooks up basic exercise machines to kinetically pump polluted water through four filters into overhead tanks that spill into a large drinking fountain at the end of the cycle. This floating platform on the Vistula River aims to empower citizens toward environmental clean-up, and apparently would work on any body of water with enough local bodies willing to pedal for their potables.

Pinwheel Love

I'm using these in various sizes, patterns, and shades of grey, white, and yellow to decorate my charcoal wall in the bedroom. Love. I still owe you photos of my room...ahh I'll get on that soon! It's quite modernly feminine.

Continuing the Revamp

Oh and I'm thinking I'm going to add a demi partition via a hanging curtain gathered and cinched to the wall by my short bookshelf to split the space. White, I believe. That way I can finally feel good about going all out on my vintage lace inspired wall. Black lace on the heather grey wall and cream lace on the charcoal. It should be fab. Ahh still can't believe this darn room has taken me a month to get done! I'll be sure to post photos when it all comes togetha.
And yes, I know, I should be studying. But I just can't concentrate! I can do like thirty minutes of focus to every ten of something else. Oh my word, it's bad.
