Happy Birthday Kris!!!

23 years ago...one of my absolute best friends in the world was born. Kris this is the first year I can remember when we haven't been together for your birthday! I'm tempted to drive down to AZ right now to fix that.

Can I just say how much I love weekends that are busy with fun instead of school?!

It was Jonny Cracroft's 30th this weekend...and he had an AWESOME birthday bash friday night at Momentum. Probably one of the best birthday parties I have ever been to...who doesn't love a good solid night of climbing and friends?

Then...Hare Krishna's Holi Festival (aka the festival of colors) was on Saturday!

Who doesn't love welcoming spring...by throwing fistfuls of colorful chalk at your friends, moshing, and completing multiple triple high piggy backs without dying?!

I went to Holi for one last time in my college career this last weekend. This year has been by far my favorite festival...an overall fantastic year, period. I swear college just keeps getting more and more fun. Wait. Maybe it's just because it keeps getting more and more social...and less and less academic...? haha I guess it's a perk you get for being a super senior with only 9 credits!

I love the Baird family, it's true. Hayden is a riot (she's the one who's moshing here). Dustin's a riot as well. Ran into him randomly and he CREAMED me with a fistful of orange powder right after this pic was taken.

Then I spent Sunday night with some of my favorite chicas and respective boys. Should've taken a photo! Ilene & Eric, Steph & Steve, Ash & Loren...I love you all. And I love that we didn't completely tank on "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader!"

World Water Week

Over the past year, I've had a chance to work with UNICEF and also be exposed to various other non-profits that friends of mine have become heavily involved with. I'm not going to lie, before this last year I would've just shrugged off someone's request to help out with a non-profit. But this last year has taught me so much about what I can do individually to help others and how vital it is for people to help out where they can.

This week is World Water Week for UNICEF. (You may remember this video that the BYU AdLab did last year for World Water Week.) Did you know that nearly 900 million people worldwide lack safe, clean water and that nearly half of those individuals are children? Check out this innovative way we have come up with this year to raise money for World Water Week. It's called Tap Duel.

Cabin Calm

Spent the weekend at the cabin with these loverlies (plus daniel). It was fantastic, mostly filled with sporkle and time to just kick back and relax. I definitely needed a weekend to clear my head, and the cabin did just the trick.

Be Happy

I had the chance this morning to read this amazing talk from James E. Faust. If you have a chance, I highly recommend it. It talks a lot about how to remain happy while facing the challenges in your life, specifically being single, but it's applicable to just about any challenge you face in your life.

Here's a favorite tid bit that I loved:

"Mortality is a precious drop in the bucket of eternity. Why not make each minute pleasant and fulfilling? We must make our own happiness. As President Spencer W. Kimball once said, 'Happiness does not depend upon what happens outside of you, but on what happens inside of you. It is measured by the spirit with which you meet the problems of life.'"

Springtime Music

I love the new album from She & Him...love Zooey Deschanel's voice. New album comes out on March 23, but until then you can preview it at NPR.

It's so perfectly light-hearted for spring.

Ray Ban Love

I know. I've always sworn I wouldn't be one of those people who spends absorbent amounts of money on trivial things...like sunglasses...but I can't get over these. I bought fake ones last year, they broke, and now I want real ones. Love how classic these are. And their aviators too. I can't decide between the two.
