Farewell Weekend

I went down to the cabin this weekend for Daniel's farewell. Crazy to think he's going into the MTC this Wednesday! How did my little brother grow up so fast?! I'm going to miss this kid like crazy during these next two years.

Spent Friday skiing with the family at Brian Head. Taught my mom how to ski! She's so cute and did such a great job...pizza...french fries! haha. I don't know why we didn't take any pictures of it!

Spent Saturday snowmobiling...and then split my chin open and had to get stitches. Classic, I know. I was just thankful it was me and not Daniel this time. Daniel and I were out snowmobiling with Brianna, and long story short I didn't land a jump right. Let's just say that I went over a dike (intentionally), way too fast (semi unintentionally). The machine hit my helmet on impact, my helmet hit my chin wrong, and my chin split open. Daniel's a great little brother and we got in to the ER a record hour after the incident, which is amazing considering we were a ways away from our cabin, and our cabin is over the mountain from Cedar. All I have to say is thank goodness for having ample amounts of snow to press against my chin on the ride back to the cabin! It numbed it up right away, so it didn't ever really hurt too horribly.

Two of my favorite people. Such a good morning.

Prepping for the jump. Note the trajectory. My brother says I got about ten more feet of air after this picture. Awesome...til I hit the ground.

Did a quick self-eval after I landed...and whoops. Snowmobile-1, Brooke-0

Ok, this is your fair warning if blood makes you woozy: don't look at the next picture. It's really not that bad, but ya know, just warning :)

All in all, it was a great weekend. I love my family and cannot believe Daniel is going into the MTC in three days! I'm thankful that the tsunami warning Hawaii had on Saturday turned out all right, and that my family over there is fine. I'm also thankful I wasn't hurt too badly considering the amount of stupidity that went into that jump. haha, never jumping that again.

  3. Sounds like the jump bested you, not because you walked away with a cut chin but because you aren't going back to rock it again only at 12 feet instead of only 10. I say don't let the snowmobile win, do it again!

  4. Nate, the ironic thing about this jump is that the time I got hurt was actually my third time jumping it. first time: 5', second time 10'...third time, rocked my body. Maybe I should edit it, Brooke-2, Snowmobile-1.

  5. YIKES! Glad it was just your chin. I mean, at least you can totally hide it. Haha. It will be an awesome scar story. Come show me in person!!!
