Wormage

I am completely and utterly terrified of earth worms. Yes, it's true. And yes, I know it's ridiculous. It rained the other night and it probably took me about half an hour to walk my normal five minute route home. Why, you ask? Because there were MILLIONS of earth worms on the ground and I can't stand stepping on them. Instead, I opt to carefully place each foot between them so as to avoid getting worm guts stuck in my shoes (I'm sure I'm a sight to be seen). It grosses me out to the nth degree. literally. If you don't believe me, ask my older brother about our early morning newspaper route fiasco when I was fourteen and refused to get off my bike because there were worms on the ground.

But really, EVERYONE has an irrational fear, right? I'm convinced it's not just me.

le français

J'aime bien le français, mais malheureusement les cours publicités mangeaient ma vie maintenant. J'ai parlé (en français) avec quelqu'un aujourd'hui et réalisé que j'oubliais beaucoup de français. zut.

It's true. I miss French so much. And I'm starting to forget some (A LOT!) of it because I haven't been keeping up on it! ahh, quick, fix that now please! I'm only speaking French from now on with any of you who also speak French! Anyways, I think I've been on a subconscious French rampage lately. I keep mentally translating everything into French just for kicks, and today I'm taking baguettes, brie, and raspberries to my night class. yum. oh my. I'm realizing I'm starting to sounds obsessive...

a bientôt

CB2

How did I only now discover this store? Love Crate & Barrel but don't have your parent's checking account on hand? Yeah. Me either. Enter CB2. Lovely items, but at a fraction of the price of C&B.

I. AM. IN. LOVE.

This is almost like the day I discovered Ikea or the Container Store. Almost. I think this is better. Maybe it's because I am slightly obsessed with Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, David Adler, and the like...and I think this hits more on those notes.

Sunshine Happiness

Sunshine makes me so happy! I almost forgot how much of a difference it made until it was blue skies and all sun yesterday. Such a perfect beginning to March. Naturally, I shirked all homework responsibility for the glorious afternoon and could not have been happier with the results.

sunshine+lunch outside+playing catch+climbing+yozone=one happy brooke

Ahhhh winter, I have loved you. But I think I'm ready for spring.

Farewell Weekend

I went down to the cabin this weekend for Daniel's farewell. Crazy to think he's going into the MTC this Wednesday! How did my little brother grow up so fast?! I'm going to miss this kid like crazy during these next two years.

Spent Friday skiing with the family at Brian Head. Taught my mom how to ski! She's so cute and did such a great job...pizza...french fries! haha. I don't know why we didn't take any pictures of it!

Spent Saturday snowmobiling...and then split my chin open and had to get stitches. Classic, I know. I was just thankful it was me and not Daniel this time. Daniel and I were out snowmobiling with Brianna, and long story short I didn't land a jump right. Let's just say that I went over a dike (intentionally), way too fast (semi unintentionally). The machine hit my helmet on impact, my helmet hit my chin wrong, and my chin split open. Daniel's a great little brother and we got in to the ER a record hour after the incident, which is amazing considering we were a ways away from our cabin, and our cabin is over the mountain from Cedar. All I have to say is thank goodness for having ample amounts of snow to press against my chin on the ride back to the cabin! It numbed it up right away, so it didn't ever really hurt too horribly.

Two of my favorite people. Such a good morning.

Prepping for the jump. Note the trajectory. My brother says I got about ten more feet of air after this picture. Awesome...til I hit the ground.

Did a quick self-eval after I landed...and whoops. Snowmobile-1, Brooke-0

-----
Ok, this is your fair warning if blood makes you woozy: don't look at the next picture. It's really not that bad, but ya know, just warning :)

All in all, it was a great weekend. I love my family and cannot believe Daniel is going into the MTC in three days! I'm thankful that the tsunami warning Hawaii had on Saturday turned out all right, and that my family over there is fine. I'm also thankful I wasn't hurt too badly considering the amount of stupidity that went into that jump. haha, never jumping that again.

The Jump

I feel like time just crept up on me. Not in a bad way, just in the all-of-the-sudden-holy-hannah type of way.

59 days until I've officially graduated from BYU.
59 days to figure out what I'm doing.

I could seriously use some beach time to just clear my head right about now. Miss this so much.

On another Hawaii note, I stumbled across the following photos today. Plug to the parents: BEST family activity yet, we need to do something like this again. Anyways, you're welcome to make fun of me all you want, but when I was looking at these, I realized this is kind of how I feel about my life right now. Thus, skydiving=brooke's life was invented. let me recap for you:

About to jump out of a plane.
AKA about to graduate college.
Note the absolute look of terror after I looked down, which in this case would be me post NY interviewing, etc.

Left the plane, not sure what I'm doing but realizing that there's no going back now.
AKA keep interviewing and try my best.

Realizing how liberating it is...and how I might as well enjoy the ride now.
AKA me realizing how badly I want NY and throwing everything I have into trying to get it.

Trying to decide if I really like this or not.
(AHHHH the stress of uncertainty is starting to get to me.)

In L.O.V.E. with it all. minus the peruvian man. he was a creep.
(cross your fingers everything NY works out, and then this can be captioned 'brooke in love with nyc')

Yes, I know, I'm a dork. Meh. Who isn't? Gosh I'm excited to see how the next few months pan out.
