Thoughts

  • This wise quote made me think twice about my mindset. Always a good reminder. "If we will always look for the best in others, in our friends, in our neighbors, in our wife, in our husband, in our children, they will turn out to be the most wonderful people in the world. On the other hand, if we are looking for their weaknesses and faults and enlarge upon them, those same people may become even despicable." - N. Eldon Tanner
  • I have completely fallen off the bandwagon of blogging, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Instagram is pretty much the only thing I keep up with these days. User name bcamit. Follow, follow.
  • I seriously lucked out in the Chicago friend department. Courtney and I made French macarons (not to be confused with American macaroons) last week. We tag teamed it and kicked some booty. One minor tweak the next go around, and I think we will have it perfected.
  • Bobby and I signed up for refresher tennis classes about a month ago, and are currently half way through our 6 sessions. It's seriously the best and I am on the verge of convincing myself it'd be worth moving to a cheaper apartment just so we can justify the expensive tennis club fees year round.

  • I'll be back in SLC June 7th-10th and could not be more excited to see some of my favorite people in less than a month.
  • You want to hear something truly crazy? This summer, all three of my brothers are living in my parent's Las Vegas casa. Insane considering we haven't even lived on the same continent for the past 5 years. And now everyone except for me is in the same house. Whoa.

  • Bobby and I have officially been dating for over two years. What the.
  • In related news, I am closing in on the two year mark of living in the midwest. Chicago's great and all, but I'm starting to have an identity crisis. I'm secretly afraid of staying here too long because I don't want to ever feel like I need to tell people I'm from Chicago. Eek. I'm from Colorado thankyouverymuch.

April Twenty12

It's been a crazy last month.
Lots of work, lots of stress, lots of ups and downs, and lots of moving.
But hooray for a new apartment. And hey, I'm alive!
Back in Hawaii, too, for a very blissful week and a half.

Two Years

Two years ago...

...this kid left to serve a Mormon mission in Italy
...I was finishing up my super senior year at BYU
...I was climbing at least four times a week and skiing the same number of days
...I had no idea what I was doing in life (ha. some things never change!)

Guess who comes home today from Italy today?

Crazy how two years ago sometimes seems like a lifetime ago but at other times feels like it was just yesterday.

World's Biggest Rope Swing

Words do not even explain how jealous I am that I was not with my friends in Utah for this.

Ok Go.

Seriously what goes through a person's head that makes them think of things like this? Man these guys kill me every time. How fun would it be to create something like this AND drive through it? Rad.

Actually, let's be a little more realistic. Forget the musical car course. How fun would it be to just have a camera built in to your car? Like on the rearview mirror? Think of all of the great / horrible footage that could come from that! It'd be like Photo Booth but better. I personally would probably have an abundantly embarrassing amount of singalongs to Hot Chelle Rae. (Yes, I know. Nobody over the age of 17 should listen to them. But I just can't help it. Their, what, all of two songs are just so peppy and always get me in the best moods!)

TweetHeart

This is by far the best random Twitter follower request I've received.

1. African American means black, right? umm does she look black to you? didn't think so.
2. 200 lbs? Does she moonlight as a linebacker?
3. How on earth did she find me?
4. Apparently I need to change my prof pic since she thinks I'm a lesbo.
5. Did I click through to her profile? Umm...you know you would too.
6. If you're looking for love without all the games, I know a girl...

Recently

The past four weeks have been the best...

We did Christmas in Vegas this year. It was fun to see the new place, enjoy balmy weather in December, hang out with the family, and talk to Daniel on Christmas (can't believe he's going to be home from Italy in less than two months now!)

Took advantage of the warm weather and explored Red Rock Park.

And got out mountain fix in with a quick trip to the cabin before spending a week with the LeBarons in SLC.

----

Then I headed to NYC for work.

And of course per tradition had to stay an extra day to hang out with Chad (Cara we missed you!) and eat way too much yummy food...

...and get lost exploring one of my favorite cities.

----

Then it was back home to Chicago for more work, then off to SLC again to see Miss Lindsey Cra's wedding (which of course was just as GORGEOUS as the bride herself!)

(photo from Ash...of course somehow misplaced my camera while I was packing for this trip!)

----

It has seriously been the best month, I could not have asked for a better way to end 2011 and ring in 2012!
