For the past week or so random guys have been showing up unannounced on my doorstep asking if a roommate is home. Seeing that I don't know the requested basement girls, I usually say "I have no idea, you're welcome to check........pause........or you know, you could just call them." Seriously, am I the only one who thinks that it's weird these guys show up unannounced without calling the girl, don't feel comfortable going to knock on their bedroom door themselves, and somehow all resort to asking me to check for them?! Up until today I've been nice enough to run downstairs and check if the requested girl is home, but tonight after giving the multiple suggestions of how this certain boy could either a) go check for himself to see if she's home downstairs, or b) call her, and having the guy still for some unknown reason remain glued to our couch (during the middle of the GG season premier mind you), I pulled out my phone and called the girl myself.
Yup, she was downstairs.
She thinks it was hysterical that I called her. I think it's obnoxious that living upstairs somehow makes me responsible for answering the door for everyone. I'm going to try out the theory of not answering the door unless I'm expecting someone. Or if they're persistent and knock more than once. Maybe. I'll let you know how it goes.
