Chicaaaaaago.

Just booked my first Detroit-Chicago trip. And let me tell you, I probably spent the better part of the past 2 weeks trying to decide whether to fly, train, or bus myself over. Who even knew there were so many alternatives to flying while stateside? Here's how it all broke down:

Airplane
-Pros: fast. 1 hour flight+1 hour time difference=get to chicago without even losing a minute!
-Cons: $170.

Train
-Pros: free checked bag; free parking; $75.
-Cons: 6 hour ride; no internet service.

Bus
-Pros: free checked bag; free parking; free wi-fi; $66.
-Cons: 5 hour ride.

Do you want to know what I went with? Hmmmm?

Well...against all trained judgment, I decided to go with the bus and just try it out! I mean, I'm saving $100 on the ticket, $40 on parking, have an option to check 2 free bags (even though I never check a weekend bag at the airport anyways...but hey it's the option that counts!), have free wi-fi the entire trip, and am not driving so I can do work, watch movies, sleep or anything else for the full 5 hours! Oh and not to mention I'm curious to see what type of people I meet on the bus. Potential for this to be a crazy adventure? A gillion percent.
