Love & Exhaustion

It's true. I'm in love with New York City. Pretty much decided I want to move there when I'm done with school. That said, I have never been so exhausted in my life (and ridiculously scared for the mass amounts of studying and catching up on course material my brain will be forced to do...and do well...this week)

ex.haust.ion:
extreme weakness or fatigue.

Yeah, I'd say that's about right. I hate layovers. Who even thought of those? Lame. My connecting flight in Denver was canceled on my flight back today, so I had the marvelous privilege of becoming bff with the Denver International Airport for an additional four hours. Maybe that would've been ok if I'd actually gotten more than 1 hour of sleep last night. But seeing as I didn't, and that I was so comatose I fell asleep on the plane before it even pulled away from the gate in NY, you can only imagine my annoyance at DIA. Thank heavens they have the best food court of any airport. Starbucks, Panda, and Ben & Jerry's all did me well. such a fatty. and so rambling right now....ahhhh I need sleep baaaaaadly.

Loving Life

Leaving for the nyc TOMORROW!!! I'm incredibly excited to go for Ad Week and meet NEW AD AGENCIES, and of course just excited to be back in the city.

On a funny note...just look at the photo to the left. This weekend was AMAZING. Explanation: way too crazy with Ash, Justin, and Ryan Friday night in Park City. The cabin we were at was full of stuffed animals and we just couldn't resist this photo opp. haha. I was way too hyper that night...reminds me of those crazy nights we used to have all the time in the Aves! Too funny.

But seriously, great weekend. SL, PC, tennis with Ilene, golf with Andy, laughing way way way too much with Ash, Kris and the various boys, football game with Val, movie snuggles, sunday night game night, and monday morning rock climbing. So much fun! And all followed by a week packed full of advertising and NY!

Love Me Preppy

Relaxing Friday:

7AM wake up.
8AM finally get out of bed after laying there texting.
9AM yum. breakfast.
10AM tennis with the lovely Ilene.
12PM back to the office. blech. might have detoured to the adlab to save sanity.
1PM sit at work and finish hw I'll be missing while I'm in NY next week.
3PM golf (aka driving range fun) with Andy.
5PM rendez-vous with Ash in SLC then head up to Park City for the night.

Gosh when did my life get so preppy again? love. it.

PS I want this polo BAD. Or their blue, white and gold one. Totally back into the polo phase I seem to always inevitably return to. Anyone feel like being charitable in the form of Ralph Lauren? haha.

back, back to the NY, NY!!!

Random 10 Countdown For the NYC Return:

-10 gillion options of outfits I could bring. ad week is overlapping with fashion weeks...dun dun dun.
-9 gillion options that I've narrowed it to. Will have to work on this one more!
-8 or so new ad firms I'm hoping to visit. (and so excited about!)
-7 more permanent months left in Provo...then real life! woo!
-6 more days til I'm back in wonderful NYC for Ad Week!!!
-5 glorious days I'll be spending there
-4 tiny hours on an airplane...don't you love modern travel?!
-3 dollars. Close to what my bank account will (not) hold after this stint.
-2 amazing parents who have been ridiculously supportive of me, and who I will forever be grateful for.
-1 fabulous BYU AdLab that is making this happen.

And on a serious note...I really am excited to be going back to NYC to experience Ad Week, but more importantly see more ad agencies and get a feel for them. I'm starting to heavily lean toward an east coast move come April, and hopefully this will help me gain an even better perspective on what's out there. So excited for this next stage of life to start!

oh provo boys

For the past week or so random guys have been showing up unannounced on my doorstep asking if a roommate is home. Seeing that I don't know the requested basement girls, I usually say "I have no idea, you're welcome to check........pause........or you know, you could just call them." Seriously, am I the only one who thinks that it's weird these guys show up unannounced without calling the girl, don't feel comfortable going to knock on their bedroom door themselves, and somehow all resort to asking me to check for them?! Up until today I've been nice enough to run downstairs and check if the requested girl is home, but tonight after giving the multiple suggestions of how this certain boy could either a) go check for himself to see if she's home downstairs, or b) call her, and having the guy still for some unknown reason remain glued to our couch (during the middle of the GG season premier mind you), I pulled out my phone and called the girl myself.

Yup, she was downstairs.

She thinks it was hysterical that I called her. I think it's obnoxious that living upstairs somehow makes me responsible for answering the door for everyone. I'm going to try out the theory of not answering the door unless I'm expecting someone. Or if they're persistent and knock more than once. Maybe. I'll let you know how it goes.

My Favorite BYU Thing

Yup. I can be seriously happy with BYU at times.

So excited for the Devotional tomorrow that President Monson will be speaking at. These devos may in fact be my number one favorite part about my past 4 years at the BY of U. Particularly the ones from freshman year when Kris and I used to get bread and honey butter every week to eat during....errr...I mean, after...the speaker's remarks. Yumzer.

{such good times}

Heart Hurt

Dear Heart,

Please stop hurting over things you know you can't change. I know you keep having unpleasant reminders shoved back in your face here in Provo, but please for sanity and beauty's sake, please please please stop agitating the tear ducts. I'd really appreciate it. How about just focusing on happy things like the beautiful weather and climb you did with your amazing friends today?

thanks
