Social Eater

I've recently discovered how much of a sucker I am for peer pressure.

Exhibit A: I recently started P90X, diet and all. The workouts are awesome and totally doable. The diet is awesome and totally doable...when I'm left all alone in an anti-social vacuum. WHY on earth does 80% of my socializing involve some sort of food?!

Exhibit B: When said social occasions arise, I have three options. 1-lie and say no thank you, I'm good without, 2-eat whatever fattening thing it is without question and then still wonder why I haven't lost any weight three months down the road, or 3-tell everyone I'm doing P90X and really really want to stick to the diet. Option 1 is clearly the only real option since option 2 leads to no results, and option 3 leads to endless tormenting about why I'm dieting, don't I know I'm already skinny (uh huh), and other such things.

Conclusion: P90X is my kick start for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. hear that? lifestyle. That means that yes, I will be working out and generally speaking I will be following the dieting plan. But, it's all about the lifestyle, so by all means if I want to eat chocolate one night or a fruit smoothie instead of an egg white omelette one morning, especially if I'm out with friends...I will. For Pete's sake, I'm working out 1-1.5 hours every morning and also getting climbing or tennis in a few times a week as well, so I will indulge every once and a while thank you very much and avoid the awkward conversation topic of strict dieting.

  1. NUTRITION PLAN not diet!! haha that's what I tell myself. It really is though, its not some crazy "diet"..its just changing bad habits and eating more healthy. I TOTALLY feel the same way tho. I am such a social eater. And its crazy how much people tempt you and give you crap for trying to be healthy. I'm so glad me, you and Nate are keeping tabs on one another, totally helps!
